Refund Policy

1. Scope

This refund policy covers two types of payments: Wedsite subscription payments (Premium tier purchases) in Sections 2-8, and gift registry contributions in Section 9.

2. Eligibility for Refunds

You may be eligible for a refund if:

  • The request is made within 15 days of purchase
  • The service does not meet the advertised features
  • Technical issues prevent you from using the service
  • A duplicate charge or billing error has occurred

3. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please:

  • Email [email protected] with your request
  • Include your account details and purchase date
  • Explain the reason for your request
  • Provide any supporting documentation if applicable

4. Non-Refundable Items

The following cannot be refunded:

  • Domain registration fees
  • Third-party service charges
  • Requests made after 15 days of purchase
  • Services that have already been substantially used

5. Processing Your Refund

If your refund is approved:

  • It will be processed within 5-10 business days
  • The amount will be refunded to your original payment method
  • You will receive a confirmation email once the refund is issued
  • Any applicable third-party fees may be deducted

6. Partial Refunds

A partial refund may be granted if:

  • Domain registration fees need to be deducted
  • The service has been partially used
  • Third-party service fees apply
  • There are special circumstances warranting an adjustment

7. Service Cancellation

If a refund is approved:

  • Premium features will be removed
  • Your account will revert to the free tier
  • Any linked custom domains will be unlinked
  • Your data will be retained in line with our data retention policy

8. Disputes

If you disagree with a refund decision:

  • Contact our support team with additional details
  • Provide any relevant documentation
  • Allow 5 business days for a review
  • A final decision will be communicated via email

9. Gift Registry Contributions

Important: Gift registry contributions are separate from Wedsite subscription payments. Contributions made to a couple's gift registry are treated as gifts and have different refund terms.

9.1 General Policy

Registry contributions are treated as gifts to the couple and are generally not refundable once successfully processed. Contributors should treat their contribution as a wedding gift.

9.2 Exceptional Circumstances

Refunds may be considered in the following situations:

  • Technical errors: Duplicate charges or system errors
  • Fraud: Unauthorised use of your payment method
  • Wedding cancellation: At the couple's discretion, if they choose to return gifts

9.3 How to Request

For contribution refund enquiries, please contact the couple directly first. If the couple agrees to a refund, they can initiate it through their Stripe dashboard. For technical errors or fraud-related concerns, contact us at [email protected].

9.4 Processing

If a refund is approved, the original contribution amount (less any non-recoverable payment processing fees) will be returned to your payment method within 5-10 business days. Note that our 3% platform fee is non-refundable.
